The award-winning team at GGLO, a collaborative design firm, is looking for a Director of Architecture in our growing office in Boise to support our expansion into multiple locations, disciplines, markets and project types.

About the role
Located in the GGLO office in Boise, the Director of Architecture is an active member of the GGLO leadership team and is responsible for the business development, project direction, delivery and profitability of architectural projects. from GGLO to Mountain West. This position is both an internal and external champion, promoting firm efforts and leading internal teams through excellent design and delivery. This Director moves our business forward through leadership from our Boise office, including mentoring the development of each team member and running our business, while designing and delivering inspired projects. A successful manager will build strong and lasting customer relationships through a high level of service that will enhance GGLO’s reputation in the West of the Mountain. This position works with other directors of GGLO to develop future opportunities for the office.
Essential tasks and responsibilities
Act as the main responsible for several projects
Represent our firm as a leader and bring unique value to the current and future success of the company
Demonstrate leadership in achieving GGLO’s purpose, core values ââand strategic goals
Exhibit design excellence through knowledge, understanding, research and promotion of quality design
Demonstrate unwavering fiscal responsibility taking into account the balance between risk and reward
Manage business risk through strong contractual relationships, processes and procedures
Actively engage with others in our industry by maintaining an external presence in professional, civic and community groups, and strategic business development
Build customer loyalty through excellent design work, innovation and a passion for quality
Show continuous improvement through proactive decision making and problem solving
Inspire and lead others through collaboration, cooperation, humility and mutual respect
Coach, coach, teach, present and actively lead others through trust, shared learning, delegation and modeling expectations
Possess excellent written and verbal communication skills and engage in respectful interactions
Commitment to sustainable design (certification is highly preferred)
Terms & Conditions
Architecture license
15 years of experience in the architectural industry, of which the last 5 years in a management position
Mastery of technical and commercial concepts
Demonstrated experience in developing relationships with municipalities and coaching design staff
Consistent track record of leading and delivering profitable projects
Current authorization to work in the United States
