ExpressJet Airlines appoints Hiwot Taddesse FAR 119 Chief Operating Officer

RENO, Nev. – ExpressJet Airlines has appointed Hiwot Taddesse as Director of Operations for Federal Aviation Rule (FAR) 119.

In this role, Taddesse is responsible for overseeing ExpressJet’s flight operations, in-flight operations, operational support center, crew planning and training, FAA regulatory compliance coordination and collaboration with related associations. She previously served as chief pilot of the FAR 119 system for ExpressJet.

Taddesse has progressed, during her 16-year career with the company, through a variety of positions ranging from pilot to crew resource management facilitator, captain, flight operations supervisor, chief pilot line operations assistant and manager.

“Hiwot has been an asset with her contributions to our business over the past 16 years, and we believe she will help guide the success of our operations throughout ExpressJet’s continued journey,” said John Greenlee, CEO Acting ExpressJet.

Taddesse is a United States Navy veteran and holds a bachelor’s degree in aeronautical science from Embry-Riddle Aeronautical University.

ExpressJet’s leisure brand, aha!, launched last fall and now serves 10 destinations with direct flights from its hub at Reno-Tahoe International Airport.
