Vinod further warned that they would take the law into their hands against illegal business activities if the civic body did not act by Monday.

However, Pereira assured that action will be taken against illegal sellers from Saturday same.

“The traders demanded the elimination of all illegal vendors selling fruit and other goods on the trail. They claimed that New Market’s business had been severely affected due to illegal business activities outside the market,” said the president.

The president also admitted that workers engaged in taking action against illegal business activities were not doing their jobs properly.
